The care you will receive encompasses all aspects of your health and wellbeing. At our office we provide preventative services as well as comprehensive management of any acute or chronic issues as well  as family care planning and goals of care discussions, all provided in an integrated model, so that when you leave our office, you feel  listened to and confident in the advice you received.  

I graduated in 2000 from Drexel University (then Hahnemann School of Medicine). Completed residency (from St Mary's Medical Center) and fellowship (from Stanford) in 2004 and have been in practice since then. Between 2005-2014, I worked at Stanford University School of Medicine as part of the Stanford Internal Medicine Group. Since 2014, I have been in private practice, and continue to hold an appointment at Stanford University School of Medicine as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine and Population Health Science.  I also maintain active privileges at Stanford hospital and Courtesy privileges at El Camino hospital. I enjoy direct patient care and teaching. 

I am also the Medical director of the Vi Skilled Nursing Facility in Palo Alto and Manor Care Healthcare Center in Sunnyvale.     

I also care about public health and believe in fair access to healthcare and medical services to all. For that goal, I have chaired the South Bay Chapter of Physicians for a National health Program and have been active in the plight of a single payer health care system.  

I am a wife and a mother of two girls. 

Haidar is an engineer with 30 years of experience in electrical engineering. He loves to be with people and many of you will encounter him first as you are exploring my practice. He is my husband and office manager. 

Gary recently joined my practice as the lead Medical Assistant. He has many years of experience in office based clinical practices and is dedicated to your health and wellbeing. You often will encounter him first when you call our office.  

Moushumi is a Co-Medical Assistant with Gary. she works closely with me, Gary and Dr. Johansen. Moushumi is a wonderful person with many experience in outpatient medical practice. 

I have been fortunate to have Nhan, a nurse practitioner join me in caring for patients at the Vi and Manor Care.  He brings in many years of experience in direct patient care and is a very bright and caring nurse practitioner.
